muka Alak (terlentang kena pukul?) keluar kat front page Utusan Malaysia hari ni.

  6. kid says:

This is what they said on Utusan Malaysia this morning:

    GANAS..
Gara-gara cuba melondehkan seluar dan menonggeng ke arah penonton sambil menjerit perkataan ‘jilat, jilat’ ketika menyanyikan
lagu Mari Nyanyi Menjilat, vokalis kumpulan underground Carburetor Dung dibelasah penyokong parti pembangkang yang menyaksikan persembahan mereka pada Perhimpunan Protes Sejuta Rakyat – Protes Sampai Turun di Stadium Kelana Jaya, Petaling Jaya, petang semalam. Persembahan itu adalah program selingan sebelum ucapan membantah kenaikan harga minyak oleh para pemimpin pembangkang termasuk Penasihat Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. – Utusan Malaysia online

  7. kid says:

Then what they wrote on Malaysiakini:

A segment of the crowd at the Kelana Jaya stadium turned unruly today following a rude gesture from a singer of a performing rock group, Carburator Dung.

The lead singer of the rock group, which was performing as part of the programme today in the anti-oil hike rally, caused outrage among a large portion of the spectators by showing his buttocks in the midst of a raucous performance of the band’s signature song Jilat.

  8. kid says:

We were there yesterday. But almost all of us left after they ‘sabotaged’ Lawan Tetap Lawan @ Dum Dum Tak’s set. DDT only managed to play 1 song properly, Hentikan Penindasan (they also explained about the songs, still Pemuda Pas didnt agreed to hear them) and 2 more songs (Demokrasi Tanpa Isa and another 1) when unmiked despite the huge PA that the protest had that day . It seems that Protes (or is it just Pemuda Pas) didnt allowed any band performances after hearing what kinda music DDT played, despite their lyrics and explanation.

I only got to know about what happened to Alak when I got home last nite. A friend did tried to sms me that the ‘show’ went back on later afternoon, but another friend told me on ym that the crowd attacked Carburetor Dung and some ‘underground-looking’ friends whom still around.

We now got the ‘expected’ stories from the mainstream medias (pro gov or not). Hoping to hear Dum Dum Tak and Carburetor Dung’s side of the story soon.

Quoting one of the protester that day, ‘belum berkuasa korang dah control-control, nanti kalau dah berkuasa korang lah yang gunakan ISA tu, aku tau’.

  9. Joe Kidd says:

guys, kami semua OK (Alak ada benjol sikit kat dahi). kami perlu berterima kasih pada pemuda-pemuda AMK (Angkatan Pemuda Keadilan – t-shirt biru) yang rata-rata marah tapi masih cuba sedaya-upaya menyelamatkan kami dari segerombolan pemuda-pemuda berbaju merah yang memang ready to rip us apart. With the help of AMK, we all managed to sneak out of the stadium (separately) after about 20 minutes being under siege.

The problem here is our song “Mari Nyanyi Menjilat”. Macam biasa, Alak did his exposing his underwear thing and of course dalam situasi panas tentang “liwat-meliwat” sekarang, aku rasa that gesture was misunderstood by the people there.

Some reports I saw also misquoted the title as “Liwat” instead of “Jilat”, so if some bloggers made the mistake, I’m sure a lot of the people in the stadium misunderstood too. So many took umbrage lah, thinking that we were making fun of Anwar. Actually I even explained to the crowd the gist of the song before we played it.

The thing is aku rasa Alak was in his “auto-pilot” mode. We have been playing that song for a long time and to a lot of people for years already and Alak have always been doing that to heighten the “satire”. The kids in the scene would get the joke all the time but we can’t expect the same from the public. That’s our mistake.

Anyways, apart from the guys in AMK, we also must thank Tom (Skitzofrenia) who shielded Alak from a lot blows, and in the process also got some benjol-benjol. Much thanks to Mad Yus (Apparatus), Poodien, Mirdza (Relationsheep), Black and many more who were there and helped out.

ini baru the reality, macam mana punkrock berhadapan dengan masses. bila kugiran “sub-culture” bertembung dengan masyarakat. bukan lagi preaching dalam cube yang sama. great!

  11. rizie says:

    from : http://dumdumtak.blogspot.com/

OK, we were on ‘standby’ as of the night before. So, I went to the
stadium and arrived at about 10.30 am. I saw there’s a stage complete with all the instuments, amps, etc. So I approached Hisyamuddin Rais and he grabbed me and tell me that our set is at 2pm after Zohor break.
I tried to call everyone but the network was busy in the stadium I had to go outside and tell the rest of the band and also some friends that asked. We gathered at the stage at about 1.10 pm. After the break, then the lady MC asked us our song titles. After the Indian drums set, she announced our band’s name as “lawan tetap lawan” and also our song titles to the crowds.
Rizie made a short speech about the protest that belongs to ALL of us not only to certain Parti supporters/followers. We have to respect each other. After our first song, ‘Hentikan Penindasan’…they guy in charge came to me and said that’s it. You guys have to stop. and I said let us play one more song. He said, they cannot allow us because they already discussed in the meeting this kind of ‘hard’ or ‘fast’ song is not allowed. We ignored him and played two more songs, ‘Demokrasi Tanpa ISA’ and a cover ‘Nyanyi Budaya Pembebasan’.
Then I looked at Hisyam and he gave me the sign to wrap it up. And we said, thank you to all. We were quite frustrated because we only had the chance to play 3 songs. But it’s better than to play only one song. And we had a great experience playing at a stadium with crowds from the public and demonstrators. Not only punk/hc kids or gig-goers like usual.
After the set, we went and lepak for awhile outside the stadium. One reporter from Malaysiakini met Rizie and asked him some questions but he was rushing to go to work and gave my number to him. He asked me some questions including about our band. Read the article he wrote up there!

watched the youtube video by mkini. it must be tough for you guys. the fists flying by the guys in red aint the same as the one from the mosh eh?

aku rasa next time buat lagu version acoustic je la. hehehehehe. janji message tu sampai.

kudos to hisham rais though for clearing the matter.

  17. apa persamaan PAS dan PDRM ?

    pukul pukul dan pukul …..

    perhimpunan aman kata mereka ?

    C.Dung still our heroes.

  20. kid says:

it feels better to know alak and the rest of carburetor dung are now safe. tom skitsofrenia, yus apparatus few others that stayed (and helped to shield alak) as well.

too bad that most of us thought that the show ended right after dum dum tak third song and left the stadium since one of the pemuda pas head said it out loud intentionally for us to know that the show with bands had been stopped.

this also might gonna headline the news on television today i think.
and to some, they might take people like we all more seriously or gonna be more skeptical.

we all know that alak were actually performing his classic political
satire, but the others might not get or even accept it, especially during the heat of sexual scandals among the politicians now.

but what done is done, hisham also politely said sorry to everyone.
we got to move on, struggling like we always did, its a very dissapointing fact, but its well expected that the society at large wouldnt bother to understand whats hardcore punk is all about.

we’re all there representing the hope and wish of the people, but the some of these people were not keen on having or to be seen together with us it seems.

  21. yuen says:

A very brutal, stark reminder that we are never a part of them. We are a subculture of social pariahs, nothings gonna change that. Our music deters them, they would not want to hangout with us unless we have some use for them. Let’s face it, we are just TOOLS to them.

That we have been constantly used as a tool for whoever, political means. As anybody who have tried to organise anything, and ended up being hijacked by political parties. Countless. In the end whatever social conscious things that we do would be seen as the opposition (whatever than means nowadays) do. People with power, either the apparent or hegemonic, should always be viewed with suspicion.

Politics, in the political party sense, is never for punks. Non-partisan, stick to the non-conformity, regardless to whoever we are working with. Then we don’t need to have somebody to ‘apologise’ on our behalf.

Kudos to the band for their statement. It’s so punk to be misunderstood : ). It’s like the Pistols sailing down Thames!

  22. asa takkan mati says:

this is just a bullshit event. Me and my girlfriend were discussing about it yesterday. It is quite a 50-50 situation in going or not going.

after that, then we realized that this event is just a very stupid event like “sure heboh” event or whatever similar. so, i was no show yesterday.

for me, oppositions are trying to use everyone. this so called fuel-hike demo is totally suck. they just want to take this golden opportunity to spread their stupid political agendas. it has been expected though.

sorry dude, this is just an opinion, not to hurt anyone here.

i wasn’t there, heard from some friends that arif was “naik sheikh!” wow, thats awesome! and a very good performance by dum dum tak.

joe and CD, good to know that you guys are safe.

  23. aedie says:

Music for Social Change..aiyoh not so easy lei…the harder we try the harder things fell on our head. But we who are not as others..We should try and try…At least we try…Better than never…

    Carburetor Dung still our hero….

  25. watai says:

The victim of anger peoples at the “non-profit” event due to fuel price crisis…… the event; profit for the poitical party involved but not for the people…”think globally act locally”….hip hip hore!!!

  26. Pencerahan says:

Protes sejuta rakyat x ubah macam pesta ‘jom heboh’. November lalu himpunan Bersih telah memasuki ‘gear empat’ suara rakyat dan sepatutnya gelombang itu menjadikan Protes memasuki ‘gear lima’ tetapi semalam himpunan jadi ‘gear satu. Kami datang bukan mahu berhibur mahu menyaksikan punggung cantik Encik Alak, mungkin agak keterlaluan para penonton yang bertindak keras terhadap beliau tempohari. TAPI perlulah Carburetor Dung menyantuni tatasusila para hadirin yg terdiri drpd pelbagai latar belakang.

Sama macam orang yg ikat kepala pakai bandana.Korang pergi sana nak dengar ke nak tgk konsert.Kalau nak dengar so dengar lah lirik tuh dgn telinga dan minda yang terbuka.bukan minda yang gelap.baling botol dekat org yg dendangkan utk korang nak. baling batu dekat “org” lain takut.Apa da…..

  28. goodlife says:

benda dah jadik dah pun. skarang apa konklusinya?

  29. xumb says:

    alak = hatkor!

  30. watai says:

Konklusinyer jgn “menterjebakkan” diri sama sekali dgn acara yang berkaitan kepentingan agenda parti politik….. ini hanya cadangan..
….saper suker boleh angkat tangan…hip hip hore!!

  31. xnizangx says:

yg dtg tu ramai mungkin dr kelantan, terengganu dan kampung2 jauh dari lembah kelang…mereka takleh nak hargai seni. tak terbukak lg minda.

  32. don’t you think ? its a time we started to fight back !!

PUNK TURUN !!!

  33. watai says:

Keganasan mungkin tak akan berlaku kiranyer “INUL” yg buat persembehan “tu”…

  34. goodlife says:

aku pun dah x tau ape nak jadi dengan malaysia…existing government dah makin celaru, yg baru menang 5 states tu plak gelojoh plak nak bikin new government, sudahnya… mcm kate nabil, “ahh lu pk ahh sendiri”, aduyaiii!

  35. watai says:

if this situation still continuous happen…GOODLIFE will become BADLIFE
    aduyaiii!!!…hip hip hore!!!

  36. aedie says:

it’s time to fight back!! masyarakat luar akan mula tau la jugak yang pemuda2 yang dipanggil punk ini punya minda yang luas kerana punya lagu yang straight to the point…bagus…”protes dalam protes”Pedulikan apa yang mainstream luar nak kata…”Lawan tetap lawan”

  37. Pencerahan says:

aedie..

  42. kedamaian says:

Scenebangang has got some good points.

What were u people thinking? The public is not like the scene. In the scene people are only cool if they follow your ideas. If they dont then u boycott them, talk shit about them and alot more of negative things would be put onto them.U were thinking the public will agree to all your actions or whatever u want to say?

Guess all of you so called intellectual people were too excited playing on a big stage till the brain was not used well enough on that day.

I guess the punch was a good lesson to stop pushing your ideas onto others. After years of talking bad about people in here, you people get to finally experience the good old proverb “Sebab Mulut Badan Binasa”.

Poor Nizang, baru nak experience main big stage sekali kena boycott tak on monitor.Ala ala ala jangan nangis ehhh.Next time ada chance lagi ok.

Apa kata someone form a Dark CRUST emo band and whine about how Alak got punched?”Laughs Out Loud”

    What a lesson eh…dudes?

Let’s recap shall we. Malaysian Politics + Rock Music = Never Gonna Happen!!!!!!! Say it again… NEVERRRRR!!!!!!!!!

People (…by that i mean 99.9% of Malaysian) are not ready for our shit. They never will.

So let’s stay out of each other’s face, so that no body gets killed. You do your shit, we do ours. You cross the line, we jack you the fuck up. Easy.

Look at the bright side people. Now even my mom knows who Carburetor Dung is. Aint that count for something? Remember heroes always get hurt…or die (which ever comes first).

For atheist kedamaian, please find something to believe in or at least to hold on to. At least you’ll have something to turn to or to blame whenever you fuck up (…and you will)

A comment by ‘ahmad’ on ustaz tantawi’s blog.

“setuju dengan coretan “rakyat kecewa” dan pemuda tadi.
    belum memerintah dah bertindak kejam

padang hari ini, sy amat kesal kerana melihat kumpulan musik pertama tadi yg baru je main satu lagu dah kena arah berhenti.

    sekian wasalam”
