THE GROUP Children of Art actually started out as a small group in myspace.com where some local youngsters who have interest and passionate about art got together and shared their thoughts and ideas. From that starting point, Children of Art grew bigger and today CoA already has 402 members and counting.
At the moment, most of the members of the Children of Art are students from various universities in Malaysia such as UiTM, UTM, UM, UKM, MMU, KTTHO and private colleges such as One Academy, Politeknik, CENFAD, Lim Kok Wing, MIA, etc.
THE EXHIBITION “3 Hari / 2 Malam” (3 days / 2 nights) is the theme for our 3 days exhibition taking place at the University Bangsar Utama (UBU) building. The exhibition will be held from 22nd to 24th July 2005. All artworks will be exhibited at the 3rd floor, while the opening ceremony will be held at the rooftop of the building.
OUR OBJECTIVE Our main objective is to introduce our group; Children of Art to the public especially to teenagers and young adults; who we are, what we do, our artworks and our mission to promote art without boundaries. To love art is to know art.
We will also be launching our mini project, “Art for Adoption”; where we will display mini arts (10 x 10 inch) by our CoA members to be adopted by guests, professionals, and private / government organizations. Part of the sale profits made will be donated to GEMMA (Humanitarian Relief Organization) fund, who are involved in aiding 26th December tsunami victims in Acheh. We would like to show that young artists too would like to contribute to good causes with their artworks.
ACTIVITIES We have lined up tons of art activities for art enthusiasts and art lovers such as art showcase, art talk with Malaysian Abstract Expressionist artist; En.Suzlee Ibrahim, musical and theatrical performance by Farah Aini Lugiman, Isma, and Miss Lina, demonstration on street arts; graffiti & stencil, demonstration on painting by Hafiz Razak, Baktiar Naim, Rasfan Abu Kassim and Mohd.Sarip, didgeridoo workshop, watercolor workshop by En.Rafie Abdul Rahman (APS), and etc. Our target is to educate and promote art to teenagers and youngsters who live in Kuala Lumpur.
