Repoman Southeast Asian Tour 2009

Repoman is a mystery band to many of us, and even small enquiries made to friends in Australia draws a blank. But there are some gig announcements I found of Repoman playing round Sydney & Melbourne, including with Nuclear Sex Addict (featuring Yeap of Pisschrist and friends from Schifosi & Workshy), Adelaide’s Snakerun, Straightjacket Nation and Deathcage late last year.
According to one site, Repoman’s vocalist AJ used to play guitar for a Sydney street-punk band mixing heavy r’n’r with Oi! sounds called The Corps (myspace.com/thecorps).
And the OI! influence is evident in Repoman’s older songs like “Discharged” and “Kids of the Wrecking Crew” where hard street-punk style dominates. However the current sound as featured on the songs on the band’s myspace page reminds me of Fucked Up and recent old school American HC revivalists. Here’s a tune:
