Leaving Normal: Kugan A/L Ananthan
He was reported as “being investigated for a series of robberies and theft of luxury cars”, aged 22; a criminal suspect under detention at the “Subang Jaya Police station”.
Now he’s dead and the police said “he was asthmatic” and ask for no “speculations” on Kugan’s cause of death. Pictures taken of his body are now spread all over the net and there are bruises, lacerations and wounds (as seen at the malaysia-today.net and reported by The Sun).
It’s another death under police custody, another numbered item on a long list of such cases constantly being shoved under the carpet by the authorities. And yet we are being asked to grin and bear it, as per usual.
“… statistics revealed in Parliament last year showed that there were a total 1,535 custodial deaths in the country between 2003 and 2007″ – MalaysiaKini.com
