As artists, as activists, as punks, or as people who do not quite fit into the mold of society, what has indeed kept us alive? What has indeed kept us from killing ourselves, or from keeping us from walking the path of misery?

What are our outlets? Do we treasure them? Do we often take them for granted? Each time we whine and cry, what or who do we turn to?

Depression is a real issue at hand, which at times, no medicine can cure. There has to be an emotional and spiritual shoulder we all should be able to lean on from time to time. Depression can be a spawn of our own differences in life, of not belonging, of being victims of oppression in any form of capacity. Of alienation, of loneliness, of lack of morale, of loss, of spite. Of simply being different.

Hardcore punk rock and its coherent relevance to the arts (and vice versa) has often been our solace and our outlet. Its inherent expressive nature rids us of our angst and frustation. It is pure, uncorrupted and un-coerced.

And very often, we overlook its simplicity, and how it has kept us alive.

NO LONGER ALONE… is a multi-disciplinary event which reminds us of our existential artistic communities. It is a hardcore punkrock show which features bands of various genres but firmly rooted to punk, it is a speech/poetry symposium, it is an event which reminds us that depression can be dealt with, if we remember how to have fun and express ourselves.
