Prohibited Projects will be holding and co-ordinating DISTRO DAY OUT, a Saturday-Sunday ‘outing’ for all local and regional DIY distros at The Subsation Gallery on 28 and 29 January 2011 from 10am to 9pm (timing subject to change).
In the weeks after this email is sent out I will be co-ordinating with various people from the DIY indie-underground scene / skateshops / etc on what to expect. Basically anyone can help set up shop, non-local distros are also welcome for this event (accomodation might be provided, more on that later), expect a garage sale like feel of regionally-focused music and paraphernalia of hardcore, punk, metal, indie, alternative, non-commercial hip hop, electronica etc etc.
Very similar to Conference Of The Birds held some years ago.
And there might also be a special appearance by DJ Urine from France spinning warped twisted tunes of noise and grind interspersed with anything you can think of.
So for now, let me know if you’re interested in being part of this, also do spread the word, its time to not only clear stock but also to share the independent underground in the important formats of cassette, vinyl and CD and remind everyone that sharing music goes beyond mp3s and Youtube.
