The 2nd part of the continuing effort to document and promote the local metal scene. Read the flyer again and chcek out this surprising entry: MODAR!
Yup! The long-gone Terengganu pioneering symphonic doom masters MODAR is back. According to band-leader Man (who I finally meet again after almost 10 years of no news recently!) this particular recording is actually done by him and some of his students (Man is now a music lecturer/tutor!). Asked about the other original band members, he said that the one most important and should be back in the band is the vocalist Nusi (now working the offshore platforms in Terengganu). It is highly possible that these two guys will be back as Modar if Nusi’s job would permit it. If that ever happens, that will be like the most long-awaited news since Blackfire put out their first album!

you should sell some of ’em on ebay. i think i got some dub copy of the demo somewhere. can anybody tell me more about them?

Bought last time in 1993/94, but it was lost. So, I want one this time! May I?
hmmm. lemme selongkar the “storeroom” in the next few days. anyway, there were two demo-tapes. One made in Terengganu with Kuyie (MOM Studio) and the other we recorded at the Hellions Studio, Kompleks Mara (beside Pertama Kompleks) in 1992. I still have the original four-tracks recordings of this one. Don’t know what’s the quality is like nowadays though but I’ll find out soon. And I think there’s a crude live recording of them playing live in the rain in Gombak in 1993!
