Welcome! It’s Ricecooker Version 6.0!

Hello people, we have decided to revamp ricecooker again. The work has been going for months; hacking, tweaking, rewiring and including being hacked by a malware! Anyway, we’ve gone through four different try-outs and finally settled on this one. We like this and really do hope you’ll like it too.

We think this new theme will make it easier for you to find stuff to read and comment. For us it’s quite refreshing and have actually made us a bit more fired-up to update this old blog. As some of you may have known, the first version of this ricecooker site/blog was posted somewhere in 2005; and before that there were even other versions which goes back to 1998, including static html pages, mailing lists (remember Dungpeople anyone?).

Anyway, we still haven’t test this latest version properly. It may look weird and skewed on Internet Explorer (we’ve be doing our simple tests on Safari & Firefox; as we don’t have IE); so if this pages look carzy, please use the latest Firefox or Google Chrome browsers.

There are still a lot of things to be done more features, lots more pages (directory, wiki etc.), and also getting our friends and you to contribute articles, news, flyers etc. There’s a simple email form on the sidebar, so you can shoot us emails at anytime. We’ve also added “social links” on each article or post, so you can share it via Facebook, Twitter or just simple emails. You can upload mp3s and images too.

Please tell us if there’s anything wrong with it or if you think there should be something to add. Ricecooker has always been a community-run project, so lets all work to make it better.

BTW: We haven’t added any new items on the “shopping” side, that list is pretty old; we hope to update that part through-out this weekend and next week.
