Saturday, 11th April 2009: Bloodshed Reunion, Bro!
Tell you the truth, I have never ever got into the local 80s rock trip. When the Battle of The Bands combos (Whitesteel, Search, Lefthanded etc.) started the “Mat Rock” revolution in the early-80s, I was already gnashing my teeth to hardcore punk, whirling my arms to “speed metal” and getting down with Motorhead.
So all this “Mat Rock-ism” has never been my “thing”, but Bloodshed did feature a good friend of mine. And I’m wondering if “Danny” would be singing again…
BTW: I attended one of the Battle of the Bands stadium gigs though. It was in Kuantan 1985 and I thought Ella was rather cute.
Dude–this is some classic-ass shit-I remember walking around Jelawat in ’86 looking at the Battle of the Bands posters competing with the PAS/BN posters for space–this era was classic! I actually became friends/played in a band with Whitesteel’s drummer (who was DEP Tojeng’s cousin)…I was just a kid back in this era but I still wished I could go to those shows!! I was too busy watching ‘Misfits of Science’ and ‘The Equalizer’ back then…open the magazines and you’d see Motley Crue, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Venom, Death SS…where the hell did those years all go? :__(
