Just posting this bulletin on behalf of our friend Welly who puts out Artcore fanzine / sings in Four Letter Word. He’s just put out the new issue of Artcore fanzine, which is a 20th Anniversary issue, and which he’s been working on for almost a year!
If you go HERE you can read all about the new issue, which comes with a 12″ LP. The LP was originally a cassette that came with a copy of Artcore in 1986, and only now has it been committed to vinyl. It’s called “America’s Unknown” and some of the shit on it is rare to the point of insanity. Some of the bands never even made it to vinyl at all until now… these include :
ASH TRADITION / IDENTITY CRYSIS / STUKAS OVER BEDROCK / P.T.L. KLUB / HORROR PLANET / STEVIE STILETTO AND THE SWITCHBLADES / CHRONIC DISORDER / ENTROPY / MAGGOT SANDWICH
It’s an amazing record.
The fanzine itself is as 12″ sized job (well 12″ plus another half, it’s amazing) and is as good as any issue of Artcore that’s come before it, but with these awesome, massive layouts!
Also, Welly opened up DAMAGED RECORDS record shop in Cardiff a few months ago. It’s great, Please check out the website for ordering details (you can get the new issue of Artcore from there)… and if you’re in Cardiff be sure to drop in sometime. It’s the only truly DIY punk and hardcore specific record shop in South Wales and is open 12 to 5pm on Saturdays only.
